Ennis Players Help Raise Almost €7,000 for NCBRI

Ennis Players have a long tradition of supporting worth-while charities by donating the proceeds of performances to a nominated charity. This year’s chosen charity is the National Breast Cancer Research Institute and in conjunction with generous sponsorship by the Old Ground Hotel, almost €7,000 from the April 3rd performance were donated to NBCRI.

The NBCRI is a voluntary based charity located at the Clinical Science Institute, UCH Galway. Launched in 1991, the key objective of the Institute is to conduct relevant, ethical research into the biology of breast cancer, to determine the cause of the disease and improve the treatment for patients. The National Breast Cancer Research Institute also works to raise awareness of breast cancer and fundraises to provide improved breast cancer services for women throughout Ireland.

Ennis Players are delighted to support this excellent charity and would like to thank our audiences for their generosity in these difficult times; we also thank the management of glór for facilitating this fundraiser. Over the past decade Ennis Players have been instrumental in fundraising over €40,000 for local, national & international charities and we are very proud of our record in this regard. We appreciate how fortunate we are to receive great support from local businesses, local media and audiences and are therefore always delighted to give something back to the community.
